Get to know me

I’m Laura, founder of CORE by Laura, and I’ve been working in health, fitness, and wellbeing since 2009.  My journey began as a Personal Trainer and Programme Manager in London and Surrey, delivering workplace health, fitness, and wellbeing programmes for global organisations including Coca-Cola and ExxonMobil.  In these roles, I helped people move more, feel better, build resilience, and perform at their best — both at work and in everyday life.

After a period working in corporate sales and marketing within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, I realised that nothing was more fulfilling than helping people improve their wellbeing through movement.  Returning to the wellbeing industry felt like coming home and inspired me to pursue internationally recognised teaching qualifications in both yoga and Pilates. 

To ensure the highest quality of teaching for my clients, I trained with BASI (Body Arts and Science International), one of the most respected and globally recognised Pilates programmes. BASI is renowned for its academic rigour and its commitment to preserving the original Pilates method while integrating modern scientific understanding. This comprehensive education covers the full Pilates system, including all major apparatus — Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, and Spine Corrector — equipping me to support clients with a wide range of goals, abilities, and needs. I provide guided, evidence-based Pilates across all equipment, drawing on hundreds of hours of hands-on teaching experience.

At CORE by Laura, I offer small group Pilates classes and personalised 1:1 studio sessions in Tavistock and Lamerton.  My teaching is thoughtful, structured, and individual — guiding you through purposeful movement that helps you move with confidence, build strength, and feel good in your body, creating a strong foundation for lasting wellbeing.
